Hours:

Lead Mine's Media Center is open weekdays, 8:00am until 2:45pm. Students and parents are welcome to check materials in or out during those hours.

Don't Forget to Show Your Spots in the Media Center!

Classroom teachers and media coordinators plan together to incorporate reference skills, literature appreciation skills, and/or
technology into all areas of the curriculum.

K-2 students may check books out for one week, 3-4 students for up to two weeks, 5th grade students for up to three weeks, with
renewals allowed for all students. Kindergartners check out one book at a time; 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders are allowed two books;
5th graders are allowed three books. Students will be required to pay a nominal fee for damaged books and full price for lost books.
Students may not check out their total allotment of books until overdue or lost books are returned or paid for.

Reading Programs:

Lead Mine students may enroll in the Accelerated Reader program, which combines the best in children's literature with intuitive
software that tests comprehension. In three simple steps, students select reading materials, read at a comfortable pace, and take a
computerized multiple choice test, for an instant score and immediate reinforcement. Accelerated Reader encourages reading and is
fun for the students. To see what quizzes are available on Accelerated Reader, click here. Quizzes can only be taken at school.
